Dr. Patrick Drake


Dr. Patrick Drake appeared on General Hospital when
Dr. Robin Scorpio was trying to find someone who
could perform brain surgery on her old friend, Jason Morgan.


While a brilliant doctor Patrick was a bit scared when
Jason's employer, Sonny Corinthos threatened to break
Patrick's hands if anything went wrong. Patrick finally
did the surgery which turned out to be a success.

Patrick's father Dr. Noah Drake had also been a brilliant
surgeon but when he failed to operate successfully on
his wife causing her death, Noah lost his confidence
and became an alcoholic.

Patrick had no respect for his father and his father had
little respect for Patrick which led them to many
arguments. When Noah was diagnosed with having liver
failure, Patrick found a soft spot in his heart
and donated a part of his liver to save Noah, however
Noah wasn't happy about it preferring to die.

Eventually Noah and Patrick found some common ground
when Noah had to step in as Eli Love's double and
sing a charity benefit concert for AIDS patients.

Being single and good looking, Patrick didn't mind
playing the ladies including Dr. Kelly Lee and
Carly Corinthos, until he started to become very
attached to Robin, who was HIV positive.

Robin and Patrick danced around their true feelings for
each other for some time. When Patrick was exposed to
an HIV patient's blood on the operating table, he
began to have more respect for Robin's plight in life
and when Patrick leaned on Robin for moral support, she
began to deeply fall in love with him.

The two flirted with moving in with each other several
times which didn't last. While Patrick and Robin both
professed their deep love for each other, they were
both strong willed and wanted things done their way.

On General Hospital Night Shift, Robin found out that
what she really wanted was a baby. Patrick freaked out
at the prospect of being a dad.

Robin and Patrick found out their differences were stronger
than their love for each other and broke up, although
both of them still loved each other and both wanted
to have a relationship work, they just couldn't patch
things up.

Patrick tried over and over to get Robin to see that
she was just wanting a baby to take the place of him
in her life and he tried to stop her on numerous
occasions. Finally Patrick saw what he was doing and
told Robin he would butt out of her business and
wished her success with having the baby.

Patrick didn't help matters any as he soon became
very close with a student nurse, Leyla Mir. They
ended up flirting in front of Robin several times on
the Night Shift and even had making love.

Leyla was accused by the other student nurses of sleeping
with a doctor to further her career despite her continually
saying it wasn't true.

When Patrick took Leyla to the Cassadine Black and White
Ball, she took a bullet meant for Patrick but realized
that Patrick and Robin should be together. After Patrick
and Robin worked to save Leyla, they both realized they
should be together too. Patrick tried to get Robin
back with him, but because Patrick still had fears
about being a daddy, Robin refused to go back with him.


Dr. Patrick Drake's first appearance on General Hospital
was on December 07, 2005.
